Conditions for changing the Failover Mode

Issue/Introduction

You see the following error messages when you change the Failover mode (Preemptive / Non-Preemptive).

"Modification of fail-over mode is not allowed after tier-0 is deployed"

Cause

You can change the Failover mode of a tier-0 gateway in certain circumstances.
Failover mode change is not allowed if the following services or features are configured.

• Tier-0 VRF gateways

The design is to inherit the Failover mode of the parent tier-0 gateways.

Resolution

To change the failover mode, you need to delete the Tier-0 VRF gateways.
