How to create a simple view in Aria Operations 8.x to display deleted VM's

Issue/Introduction

Deleted VMs in Aria Operations are visible from:

Configurations>>Inventory Management>>Navigate to Collection States > Not Existing

However, there are no views or reports that show deleted VMs

Cause

Currently there are no built in reports or views that show deleted VM's. Inventory management does show VM's that have been deleted in the environment, but not in a report/view format that can be exported. 

Resolution

Using an existing view from availability>>VM availability, a simple view that shows deleted VM's can be created.

Open the VM availability view:

select Actions>>Edit view >>Settings>>show objects and select Deleted

This will show the deleted VM's based on the object history retention settings.

 

Object history retention settings can be updated from the following location:

Administration > Global Settings. Navigate to Data Retention > Deleted Objects.Administration > Global Settings. Navigate to Data Retention > Deleted Objects.

The default value is 168 hours or 7 days, but that value can be extended to 60 days.
