Da will not start with vertica license errors

Issue/Introduction

All vertica nodes rebooted and now da will not start.

 

Restarted vertica and all nodes up.

 

In da karaf.log we see

ERROR: your vertica license is invalid or has expired

 

In vertica.log we see:

<date> init session: xxxx <WARNING> @v_drdata_node0003: v2001/3863: license issue: vertica license is not yet valid

 

Environment

DX NetOps Performance Management:: all supported versions

Cause

Running date on node 3 shows 

Jan 1 2001

 

Restart chronyd did not update the date

chronyc -a makestep

Did not update the date

Resolution

Using admintools, stop vertica on node 3.

 

Manually reset the date on the OS:

date --set="25 OCT 2024 12:17:00"

 

Using admintools, restart vertica on node 3.

Additional Information

These are physical boxes, so we assume the cmos battery may be dead.
