When executing CA Easytrieve release 11.6 in compatibility mode, the following error occurs:
A043 LE ENVIRONMENT RETURNED A NON-ZERO RETURN CODE - 03000

CA Easytrieve Release 11.6, running in compatibility mode
Answer:
Based on the A043 error message and the confirmation that this CA Easytrieve program does indeed call another program, we need to ensure that your ENVIRONMENT parameter is set correctly.
If the called program is LE, then please specify ENVIRON=COBOL in your EZTPOPT option file for compatibility. This can be done via the ASM64OPT job found in your CBAAJCL library. Or, you may change the PARM statement for only this one program to include ENVIRONMENT COBOL on your PARM statement for this one program.
