Portal On-Demand report breaks when an multiple interfaces are added

Issue/Introduction

A Portal On-Demand report works properly when three interfaces are selected. It shows three charts, one for each interface item, with the target metric data for each.

Adding a fourth specific interface results in a single graph that shows "No Data Available".

The problem interface is synced from other Data Sources but not from the Data Aggregator (DA). On the DA the interface is seen but is filtered out and not polled, thus is not synchronized to Portal Inventory.

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Portal releases 24.3.3 and earlier

Cause

Defect DE155461 was submitted to engineering for resolution of this problem.

The problem interface is synced to Portal from other Data Sources but not from the Data Aggregator. The Portal On-Demand Report configuration code should not allow the interface to be selected for the report.

Resolution

Engineering has scheduled the fix to be included in the NetOps Portal release 24.3.4. This is ETA is subject to change.

That release is expected to include a code change based solution that resolves this, preventing recurrences.

Until then the recommended workaround is to keep the problem interface out of the report configuration.

Additional Information

We will see a reference to DE155461 in the Resolved Issues doc list for that release to validate it's inclusion. If not seen in 24.3.4 it may get pushed out to 24.3.5.
