Failed to Upload DNS CSV File

Issue/Introduction

When trying to upload DNS CSV file to your Aria Operations for Networks appliance and it fails to upload with below error.

 

Environment

Aria Operations for Networks 6.x

Cause

There are a few issues that would cause this.

Could be missing FQDN information in your domain column.

You have special characters that will not work in the system. 

Resolution

Ensure that all the server information ends with the actual FQDN in the domain column.

ex. server-name 10.xxx.xxx.xxx server-name.domain-name.com

If you are missing the FQDN information at the end, the import will fail. 

Also check to ensure there are no special characters in the server/domain names that shouldn't be there. 

ex. No - before or after the server names. No -- in the names or _ $ <space> ‘  “ / \

Once changes are made, ensure you save as CSV-UTF-8 file and then compress into ZIP file.

If you are still experiencing issues uploading the file, please open a support ticket referencing this KB and upload your CSV file for investigation.
