Issue/Introduction

  • In the vCenter Server interface, the affected virtual machine shows the warning “There is no network assigned to this virtual machine” in the VM summary page in vCenter, indicating a missing or disconnected network adapter.

  • The Virtual machine Edit Settings page shows no virtual network adapter.



  • vmware.log for the VM contains information similar to the following:

Environment

Cause

  • The network adapter was ejected from the Windows guest operating system.

Resolution

As the guest OS is ejecting the network adapter, please contact your OS vendor to investigate the cause of this issue.
