'Primary Role' filter does not show all appropriate records

Issue/Introduction

  1. In the Modern UX, navigate to Projects Grid
  2. Open a Project
  3. Go to Staff tab
  4. Click on Add Staff -> Roles
  5. In this page, it is possible to filter records by 'Primary Role'
  6. It is observed that there are many Primary Roles available. So, all of them are selected. Say, 20 in number
  7. Now, when the application filters, it is noticed that only a few records are shown. Not 20 or above. Say, 3 records are shown

Why does this happen?

Resolution

  • There is a field called 'Primary Role' that is available for filling data in Resource records
  • The 'Primary Role' filter mentioned above shows the value entered in the 'Full Name' field of all those Resource records that are marked as 'Roles'
  • If these records do not have the 'Primary Role' field filled, then filtering as mentioned above would not work
  • In that case, filter by Resource / Role Name instead.
