In a situation where VMware Identity Manager nodes could not be recovered or restored and if redeployment is ONLY option.
VMware Identity Manager 3.3.x
Note: Following action plan is destructive in nature, highly recommend to ensure full image backup of appliances is available: Aria Suite lifecycle, Aria Automation & VMware Identity manager and other environment products part of Aria suite lifecycle.
1) Download the vIDM installer binary the same version of IDM which is installed.
Make note of the configuration details of the nodes.
2) Take backup/snapshot of all existing appliances Aria suite lifecycle/vIDM/Aria Automation and all other products in environments to capture current state.
Note: No snapshot OR backup should be removed or deleted until the end of this activity.
3) Export the .json configuration of All environments.

4) Remove all products from all environments.
DO NOT delete the appliance virtual machine JUST remove.
5) Power off the vIDM nodes and rename in vCenter to be able to use the original names.
6) Once we have Aria suite lifecycle as clean, deploy a new single node vIDM.
Use the same FQDN and IP address as original vIDM configuration.
7) Scale out the vIDM nodes.
8) Once vidm is configured, import/add all products with the json configuration that was exported.
9) Retrust the products with Identity manager.
