Issue/Introduction

I am moving from a SHARK to a VMAX and the  RSVP job is asking for an old empty volume to be mounted. 

 $RS VOL(TSO) PR(NEW (DSN VOL))

Resolution

RSVP always goes after what is found via a UCB matchup to your esoteric volser names based on the pattern mask of the volume label.  If the UCB is still online you will get the mount messages. Also, if any of your files still have catalog references to the old volumes you will receive the mount messages as well. 
If volumes that are pattern masked also happen to have catalog entries still pointing to the old offline volumes you will receive the mount messages. This is usually discovered for VSAM files.

Once these are resolved the jobs should run properly.
