Impacts and Considerations on System Replication by IBM Global Copy

Issue/Introduction

IBM Global Copy will be used for system replication in the event of a disaster. If it is not a Hyperswap, but just a system replication with Global Copy, are there any considerations?

Resolution

A Copy operation should leave all the files the same.  As long as the DR site as the same z/OS set up (eg, APF authorized library definitions), the product will be operational. 

Additional Information

The Panvalet library has a different BLOCKSIZE assigned depending on the DISK type.
If the DISK type is the same, there is no problem, but if it is different, the library will need to be reallocated and restored.
