CA API Gateway

Issue/Introduction

On a Gateway Software Appliance, the timestamps recorded in the ssg_logs did not seem to match up with the timezone set on the system.

"In Gateway server I am seeing EST/EDT time zone and when I logged in policy manager to same server and click on view logs-->ssg_logs name, i can see generate time showing is also same.

But, when I opened ssg_logs and see the transactions it is showing UTC time zone."

The statement "In Gateway server I am seeing EST/EDT time zone and when I logged in policy manage" actually means the Last Modified timestamp of a ssg_log file shown on the Policy Manager UI. This timestamp is adjusted to the machine time zone where the Policy Manager application is located.

Environment

Gateway Software Appliance

Cause

It is likely that the OS-level utility was used to set the timezone on a Gateway Software Appliance and caused the issue.

Resolution

ssh to the gateway using ssgconfig ID: (Even though I am on 11.1.1, the result should be very similar to your implementation).

During the following session, I took most of the default settings, the hightlights in yellow were my inputs and in red were masked out as the real values were machine dependent. for example, I am using DHCP, you may be using STATIC. Also, I do have a timeserver setup time.google.com, you maybe using something different.
