Issue/Introduction

Is that possible to deploy UMA outside master node?

Environment

Any UMA release.

Cause

Currently UMA has support for node selectors, node affinity and tolerations. But these are added at a global level for all UMA daemonsets and deployments. Separating this configuration in UMA so that rules can be applied separately to daemonset and deployment will help BCBS. This will provide an option to schedule UMA daemonset pods on master and worker nodes but other UMA deployments only on worker nodes.

 

Resolution

An enhancement requested was already raised in order to support it. Will be evaluated and put in our backlog to be deployed soon.
