Issue/Introduction

After generating Gen 8.6 Java Proxy the  build fails with this error in the .out file

Java Proxy build shows "error: package com.ca.gen.jprt does not exist

Environment

Release : 8.6

Component: Gen Build Tool

Cause

1. The folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen86\Gen\classes" contained no jprt.jar file.
2.  From Control Panel/Programs and Features.
   Right click on "CA Gen 8.6" and use option Modify.
   On the first panel use Next.
   On 2nd panel use Modify.
   Scroll down "CA Gen Features" and feature "Java Proxy" shows as not installed i.e. the Java Proxy option was not installed at Gen 8.6 install time

Resolution

The Java Proxy option requires a custom install and can now be added as follows:
Control Panel/Programs and Features.

1. Right click on "CA Gen 8.6" and use option Modify.
2. On the first panel use Next.
3. On 2nd panel use Modify.
4. Scroll down "CA Gen Features".
5. Select the drop-down for "Java Proxy" and select option "This feature and all sub features will be installed on local hard drive"
6.Use Next and on the next panel Modify to make the changes.

Then retry the Java Proxy generation and build.
