VMware vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus for Cloud Foundation(VCF) and VMware vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus for vSphere Foundation (VVF) are not recognized In Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

As part of the VCF purchase, customers will receive multiple licenses to use the components.

The vSphere licenses introduced as part of VCF and VVF namely :

 

vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for VCF  &  vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for vSphere Foundation will entitle Aria Operations through the vCenter. This means once you add a VC license with the above licenses, Aria Operations will automatically license itself. 

However, if these licenses are downgraded, they become usual vSphere/ESXi licenses and can't be used to license anything other than ESXi hosts.

Resolution

vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for vSphere Foundation entitles VMware Aria Operations to the advanced edition, while vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for VCF entitles VMware Aria Operations to the enterprise edition.

All the older VMware Aria Operations license types and license-related functionalities are also valid and supported. For more information, see VMware Aria Operations License Keys.

What customers can do

1- To remain in VMware vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus for Cloud Foundation(VCF) and  VMware vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus for vSphere Foundation (VVF), you must downgrade the vSphere keys and use them in ESXI. 

2-Then, use the additional provided Aria Suite licenses to apply separately to Aria products with the latest version. If you are not ready to upgrade Aria Operations, you can also downgrade the Aria Suite licenses to get a lower license. Just make sure the Aria Ops version installed is supported.  Review Broadcom Support Portal Product Lifecycle
