Powered off VMs with snapshots are not showing under reclaim

Issue/Introduction

When using Aria Operations reclaim function the powered off VMs that have snapshots do not show as an option to reclaim under Capacity > Reclaim > Snapshots. 

Reclamation settings it set show for Powered off VMs for 7 days and snapshots are set to 7 days.

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

This is expected behavior. If a powered-off VM has snapshots, they will not be shown as reclaimable snapshots.

Resolution

The workaround is to disable powered-off VMs from the reclamation settings.

 

Since it takes priority, after disabling it, snapshots for powered-off VMs will become reclaimable.

 

Note: The drawback for this workaround is that, powered-off VMs will not be considered reclaimable.
