No Power Supply metrics for Cisco switches in PM

Issue/Introduction

Performance Management has not discovered any Power Supply Metric Families for Cisco switch devices.

Environment

Performance Management: Any version

Cause

The Power Supply Metric Families is associated with the "F5 Network Systems" Monitoring Profile:

The "F5 Network Systems" Monitoring Profile is not associated with any Collection OOB:

The discovered devices are related to the following Group Names OOB:

• All Devices
• All Manageable Devices
• All Switches

Resolution

Here are the steps to associate the "F5 Network Systems" Monitoring Profile the devices:

1. First create a custom group if there is none.

2. Supply the Group Name and Description:

3. Create a new Rule for the new custom group:

 

4. For this example, we are adding only Router and Switch device types:

 

 

5. Save the Rule:

 

 

6. Expand the Items and check whether the devices were added to the group:

 

 

7. Make a copy of the "F5 Networks Systems Monitoring Profiles:

 

 

8. Supply the Name, Description, and add the Metric Families:

 

 

9. Assign the "Power Supply for Network Infra" Monitoring Profile to the custom Collection:

 

 

 

10. The Power Supply Metric Families were discovered on the devices:
