Issue/Introduction

The SAP agent does not connect to the SAP system.

The error message below is present in the agent's log:

 U02004172 Error while calling function module 'RFC_SYSTEM_INFO'.
Initialization of repository destination xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx failed: Connect to SAP gateway failed
Connection parameters: TYPE=B DEST="Sxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx9" MSHOST=<SAP server/IP  Hostname> R3NAME=XXX GROUP=PUBLIC PCS=X
 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode
   ERROR       partner '<Ip or host of SAP System>:<SAP used by SAP>' not reached

Environment

Product: CA Automic Workload Automation - Automation Engine v21.x, SAP Agent v21.x

Cause

Connectivity issue between SAP Agent and SAP server

Resolution

Troubleshooting steps

-Execute the command from the server of the SAP agent

ping <IP of hostname of the SAP server>
telnet <IP of hostname of the SAP server> <SAP port service>

 

If one of the commands below fails(unable to connect), please check with your network team as to why the command is failing.
