vSAN File Services Error .... "File server is (re)starting."

Issue/Introduction

When vSAN File Services is activated the file sharing service reports a problem on one file service node in skyline health

Environment

ESXi 7.0 U3 EP9     ESXi 7.0 Update 3m          Build-21686933 

Cause

The arbitrator host didn't receive the heartbeats from all file services hosts in the cluster was due to the heartbeat notification was never invoked.

EPiC EMM Monitor only received the entering MM update did not get notified by the existing MM update.


EMM Monitor PC was destroyed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue restart vsanmgmtd on all hosts in the vSAN cluster.



/etc/init.d/vsanmgmtd stop
/etc/init.d/vsanmgmtd start
