Compliance Alerts Are Not Triggered on Some vSphere Distributed Port Groups

Issue/Introduction

Some vSphere Distribute Virtual Port Groups (DVPG) in the environment have active symptoms that should trigger compliance alerts, but the compliance alerts are not active.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The DVPG with no alerts is an Uplink

Resolution

The compliance alerts for DVPG objects will not trigger if the DVPG is an uplink. This is by design since the security guidance provided by VMware is that the configurations are only a finding if the DVPG is not an uplink. The behavior observed is by design.
