• NSX-T upgrade precheck fails with below error

 

Environment

VMware NSX-T Datacenter

VMware NSX 3.2.x

Cause

The N-VDS Transport Node Profile does not get automatically deleted after an N-VDS to VDS (vSphere Distributed Switch) migration. After the migration, the Transport Node Profile associated with the N-VDS will be left inactive if the hosts are no longer using it.

Resolution

Once the migration is complete and you have confirmed that the VDS is successfully handling networking services, follow these steps to remove the N-VDS Transport Node Profile in NSX-T:

1. Log in to NSX-T Manager.
2. Navigate to System → Fabric → Hosts → Transport Node Profiles.
3. Locate the N-VDS Transport Node Profile that was used prior to the migration.
4. Click the three-dot menu next to the N-VDS Transport Node Profile.
5. Select Delete to remove the profile.
