1.NSX-T allows the creation of multiple objects (Security Groups) with the same display name.
2.This is the expected behavior of the NSX-T product.
NSX-T 4.x
The display name is not used by the system to uniquely identify objects. When multiple objects (such as security groups, Security Policy, FW rules) are created with the same display name, the system internally modifies the object name by adding prefixes to ensure uniqueness. Therefore, creating multiple groups with the same display name in the NSX-T UI will not cause any issues.
Refer below screenshot for reference.
1.Two group created with same name Test
2.Select the group and copy the exact path for both Test group
3.System has modified "Test" Security Group name as below to uniquely identified it.
/infra/domains/default/groups/Test
/infra/domains/default/groups/Test-EY-8WyrNz
4.When creating firewall rules and selecting group ,all objects with the same display name will appear. Users can verify and select the correct group by clicking on "View Members."
