Issue/Introduction

You have a filter that shows certain results. As a example, this filter shows computers with certain Disk Space.

Now, you want to create a Report that returns the same results based from your desired Filter.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Resolution

Main steps to follow (under the Optional steps):

Modifying an Existing Filter in ITMS Management Views (broadcom.com)

  • (Optional) To compile a custom report, in the content pane, click the View filter results report symbol.
In the Filter Results Report dialog box, select the association, data classes and columns. To save the report configuration for the selected filter, at the bottom of the dialog box, check Save the selected columns for filter . The configuration is saved separately for each user and each filter. To export the report results as a CSV file, click Export.
  • Click the Save Filter or Save Filter As symbol.
In the Save Filter As dialog box, specify the name and the location for the filter, and then click OK.

If there is a specific "Filter" that you want, and what you want is to have a report that reports the same results as the filter, then there is not a direct way to "convert" a filter as a report if you are under Manage > Filters (we only have "Save as: spreadsheet or HTML file)

However, if you go to Manage > Computers, and you look for the same Filter, you should have the option to "View filter results report" and then from the opening window, you can save it as a report.

As well, in that same window, you can select other columns and add them to the results in case they want to add even more details to the results and then save it as a report

Besides what I mentioned above, there is no other way by default that we can provide without going in customization or writing the report for you (Support team doesn't assist with customization or writing reports besides providing some guidance of possible tables that you may want to consider).
