vSphere 8.x
UMDS 8.x
When running vmware-umds -D, the following error is received:
####:##:##T##:##:##.035z error vmware-downloadService[135152] [Originator@6876 sub=Default] [updateDownloader 70] Error with the configured patch store /var/lib/vmware-umds. The directory /var/lib/vmware-umds is not compatible with this version of the product.
Error with the configured patch store /var/lib/vmware-umds. The directory /var/lib/vmware-umds is not compatible with this version of the product.
This is due to an issue with the pre-existing /var/lib/vmware-umds from a previous installation of UMDS.
Using the appropriate OS vendor documentation, recreate the /var/lib/vmware-umds folder within the target OS
