Issue/Introduction

Getting error: "An unhandled invocation target exception occurred while collecting LicenseAssignmentManager data for  for method queryAssignedLicenses java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: null" while retrieving data from the vCenter.

 

Environment

vCenter Server 7.0

 

Cause

A LicenseEntity is corrupted , we can see missing several fields :

Resolution

• Open the JXplorer utility.

Click on File > Connect and enter the following information:

Host: FQDN_of_SSO_Server

Protocol: LDAP v3

Base DN: dc=vsphere,dc=local

Security Level: User + Password

Security User DN: cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=vsphere,dc=local

Security Password: administrator password for the identity or SSO server

• Go to cn=LicenseService,cn=Services,dc=vsphere,dc=local
• Remove corrupted license shown above
