Issue/Introduction

  • The chargeback plugin for Cloud Director in Aria Operations is registered with the Cloud Director endpoint.
  • After publishing Aria Operations access for a tenant, an error is experienced by the tenant.
    • The Operations Manager view fails to load for the tenant and appears to be trying to reach the private IP of Aria Operations.
    • Attempting to access Aria Operations results in a "User session expired" error.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.16.x

Aria Operations 8.17.x

Aria Operations 8.18.x

NSX Advanced Load Balancer

Resolution

Ensure the 'System access URL' address under Administration > Control Panel > System Settings in the Aria Operations Global settings contains the load balancer address if one is being used or the FQDN of the primary node.

To publish the updated Aria Operations System Access URL to the Aria Operations plugin in Cloud Director, you must first un-register the plugin via the associated VMware Cloud Director adapter instance by click 'Edit' > 'MANAGE REGISTRATIONS' > enter the credentials and selecting 'UNREGISTER', then click 'REGISTER' and save the VMware Cloud Director adapter instance. Then republish the Aria Operations plugin via the Cloud Director portal to the desired Tenant organizations.

Workaround if you receive the 'User Session Expired' error when using the load balancer is as follows.

Change the 'System access URL' address under Administration > Control Panel > System Settings in the Aria Operations Global settings from the load balancer address to the Aria Operations primary FQDN.
