Issue/Introduction

The Configuring SSL section of the Symantec ICA Administrator Guide provides instructions for creating a self-signed server certificate and configuring Information Centric Analytics (ICA) to use SSL. What method should be used to remove a self-signed certificate?

Resolution

To remove a self-signed certificate, follow this procedure:

  1. Connect to the server hosting Internet Information Services (IIS) and the RiskFabric application
  2. Open IIS Manager
  3. In the Connections pane, navigate to <server-name> Sites > RiskFabric
  4. Right-click the RiskFabric site and select Edit Bindings...
    The Site Bindings window opens
  5. Select the entry for the HTTPS site (typically assigned port 443) and click the Remove button
  6. When prompted to confirm you want to remove the selected binding, click the Yes button
  7. Click the Close button to close the Site Bindings window
  8. Click the Restart link under the Manage Website heading in the right-hand side of the window
  9. Under the Connections pane on the left-hand side of the window, select the server name to highlight it
  10. Double-click the Server Certificates icon in the center of the window under the IIS heading
  11. Right-click the self-signed certificate and select Remove

If you wish to replace the self-signed certificate with a certificate from a certificate authority (CA), follow the procedure documented in the Configuring SSL section of the Symantec ICA Administrator Guide.
