This document describes how to set-up policy options for the portal passwords in Email Security.cloud

Cause

Instructions on how to configure policy options for portal passwords in Email Security.cloud

Resolution

Implementing password policy updates  is for to enhance our portal security. These changes will require users to update their passwords regularly and will prevent the frequent reuse of previous passwords.


To set the password policy options:

  • Select Administration > Access Control.
  • From the lists, select the number of days after which portal account passwords expire, and the number of required portal account password changes before a password can be re-used.
  • Click Save.

Note : Your organization's configuration may include the option of "Never expire." We recommend that you choose one of the other time-limited options to enforce password expiration. Administering a time-limited password expiration policy ensures more robust and secure account access for your organization.


You can also increase portal security by requiring two-factor authentication and by restricting the range of IP addresses that can access the portal.
