Environment

VMware NSX-T datacenter 3.2.x

Cause

There is a known isssue reported when customer uses BYOT for V2T migration with the source VDS version 6.x. Migration cordinator may mistakenly skip migrating an entire VDS under specific conditions.
This can happen when there is no NSX-T segment on destination that maps to any virtual wire or VLAN Distributed Virtual Port Group (DVPG) in the VDS 6.x, and the user has chosen to skip migrating VLAN DVPGs that do not map to VLAN segment

Resolution

Fix is available in NSX-T version 3.2.4.

Workaround:

  • Rollback the V2T migration to the start
  • create a VLAN segment with the VLAN-id of a VLAN DVPG in the VDS whose DVPG is in the error message
    or
  • create a overlay segment with the VNI of a virtual-wire in the VDS
  • Restart the migration.
