Broadcom is announcing Deprecation of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation Pipelines from VMware Cloud Foundation Automation 9

Issue/Introduction

VCF Automation Pipelines (formerly, VMware Aria Automation Pipelines and VMware vRealize Code Stream) is a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD) tool used to build pipelines that model the software release process in a DevOps lifecycle. As announced in VCF 5.2.1 / VCF Automation 8.18.1 release notes, the VCF Automation Pipelines feature is deprecated with VCF 9. VCF 5.2.1 / VCF Automation 8.18.1 is the last version that supports VCF Automation Pipelines.

Deprecation

• VCF Automation Pipelines will be deprecated from VCF Automation 9
• VCF Automation Pipelines will not be available with the release and install of VCF Automation 9
• VCF Automation Pipelines will not be available when VMware Aria Automation 8.x is upgraded to VCF Automation 9

Support

If customers continue to use VCF Automation 8.x then VCF Automation pipelines will be supported as long as the current support agreement is valid.

Resolution

• There is no equivalent offering in VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0. There are no plans to replace the functionalities in VCF Automation.
• Customers may opt for open-source solutions.
