Issue/Introduction

VCF Automation Pipelines (formerly, VMware Aria Automation Pipelines and VMware vRealize Code Stream) is a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD) tool used to build pipelines that model the software release process in a DevOps lifecycle. As announced in VCF 5.2.1 / VCF Automation 8.18.1 release notes, the VCF Automation Pipelines feature is deprecated with VCF 9. VCF 5.2.1 / VCF Automation 8.18.1 is the last version that supports VCF Automation Pipelines.

Deprecation

  • VCF Automation Pipelines will be deprecated from VCF Automation 9
  • VCF Automation Pipelines will not be available with the release and install of VCF Automation 9
  • VCF Automation Pipelines will not be available when VMware Aria Automation 8.x is upgraded to VCF Automation 9

Support

If customers continue to use VCF Automation 8.x then VCF Automation pipelines will be supported as long as the current support agreement is valid.

Environment

VCF Automation 9

Resolution

The Broadcom portfolio includes Continuous Delivery Director (CDD) as a continuous delivery solution that can serve as a replacement for VCF Automation Pipelines. CDD helps customers with both the orchestration of application releases and the automation of environment provisioning. Additionally, CDD is specifically designed to meet the needs of Enterprise IT admins, Service Provider admins, and LOB admins. For more information, please contact cddinfo.PDL@broadcom.com.
