Issue/Introduction

When clicking on the "Selected Filtered Tables" button, in the PII HeatMap View, all tables are selected, and the options to mark the unscanned tables as "Not PII" is disabled.
How should this button work?

Environment

ALL supported release of TDM Portal

Resolution

The PII HeatMap View works the same for TDM Portal 4.10.x, and TDM Portal 4.11.x, although the pages are slightly different.

  • - This button is used to Hide, or Unhide, tables that have already been confirmed for PII.

  • - This button is used to Hide, or Unhide, tables that have not been scanned for PII.

  • - This search filed is used to locate specific Tables, Columns, or Tags, Profiles, Schemas, and Table Row Counts.

  • - This button work in conjunction with the buttons and search filed described above.
    • When a Filter is applied, only the tables that match the filter criteria will be displayed. Use the "Select Filtered Tables" button to select the tables displayed by the filter.

    • When there's not a filter applied, clicking the "Select Filtered Tables" button will select all tables displayed.

Example of No Filter Applied:

In this example, There's 1 table confirmed, and all other (38 tables) are unconfirmed. There are no filters set in the PII Heatmap View, as you can see on the right-hand side of the page.

If the "Select Filtered tables" button is clicked, ALL tables are selected (Highlighted/outlined in black), including the confirmed table.

Because the "confirmed" table has been selected, there is only the option to "Confirm" all selected tables. The option to set all selected tables as "Not PII" is disabled, because we have a "confirmed" table selected.

If we simply, unselect the "confirmed" table, by clicking on it, we now have the option to mark the remaining tables as "Not PII" and "Confirm".

Example of using the Hide/Unhide Confirmed Tables button:

Another way to do this is to use the button to "hide" the Confirmed tables, then click the "Select Filtered Tables" button. Because the "confirmed" tables are hidden, or filtered out, we have the options for "Not PII" and "Confirm".

Example of using the "Filter Search Results" field:

Below is an example of using the "Filter Search Results" field, which can be used to find a specific Table, Column, or Tag, etc.

Say we would like to find all tables that begin with the name ACC. Now, when the "Select Filtered Tables" button is clicked, only these two tables are selected.
