Unable to cancel a running Workflow in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator

Issue/Introduction

When a workflow execution is running indefinitely in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator, standard attempts to terminate or cancel the execution fail:

• Attempting to cancel or terminate the execution from the VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator UI (using the Day-2 cancel action on the active workflow run) is unsuccessful.
• Attempting to terminate the workflow via the command-line interface using: vracli vro workflow fails to stop the execution.

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Vmware Aria Orchestrator 8.x

Resolution

Take a non-memory snapshot of the Aria Automation / Orchestrator appliance.

Gracefully Restart the Appliance(s): Rebooting Aria Orchestrator Standalone Appliances

If restarting the appliance via Aria Suite Lifecycle does not clear the hung workflow or resolve the issue, collect the relevant log bundles from Aria Automation / Orchestrator and open a service request via the Broadcom Support .
