Issue/Introduction
While adding Identity Source (Open LDAP or AD over LDAP), own URL domain with single-digit in the top-level domain (TLD) cannot be used because the URL validation fails.
Primary server URL address contains numeric character. Example: <domain-name>.a1.
It does not matter if the digit is at the beginning at the middle or at the end of the top-level domain (TLD),
"Please enter valid URL" warning observed, and the browser does not have an option to proceed.
Cause
This is an expected behavior.
Single-digit TLD (Top-Level Domain) is not supported.
Resolution
The vSphere (HTML5) client will continue to deny single-digit TLD.
Workaround:
The Flex, CLI, and API's do not explicitly validate single-digit TLD, so it may be possible to configure an Identity source using one with this method.
