After a newly deployed Cloud Proxy is booted up, the hostname changes to something other than what was configured at the time of deployment.
Reviewing the VM in vCenter shows the correct machine name but when logging into the console, the hostname has changed.
VMware Aria Operations 8.x
This is caused by an incorrectly configured DNS entry for the associated Cloud Proxy. When the appliance comes up, the Cloud Proxy will perform a reverse lookup and if the DNS response is different than the configured hostname, it will change it to match the DNS record.
You can confirm this by executing the command:
nslookup <IP Address of Cloud Proxy>
Review the response to see if DNS is providing a different hostname.
Update DNS forward and reverse to match the proper FQDN to IP address and redeploy the Cloud Proxy appliance.
