Issue/Introduction

VMware is announcing that VMware Edge Intelligence is entering the final phase of its product lifecycle.

This notification applies to all deployment models of Edge Intelligence, including standalone Edge Intelligence and Edge Intelligence entitlements through SD-WAN and Edge Compute Stack (ECS) product and service offerings.

Resolution

Starting November 1, 2024, Edge Intelligence will no longer be orderable. All Edge Intelligence SKUs (SDE-EI-HD, SDE-EI-SD, SDEX-IOT-HD, and SDEX-IOT-HD) will be withdrawn from Broadcom’s price book as of November 1, 2024. For SD-WAN customers who have an entitlement to Edge Intelligence, VMware intends to expand the analytics and trending capabilities in the VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator over upcoming releases to enhance WAN insights.

The table shows the important milestones and dates:

Subscription renewals will no longer be available as of the EOA date, November 1, 2024. Any renewal requests submitted prior to this date will be aligned to end on the EOSL date, August 1, 2025. Customers with active Edge Intelligence subscriptions can continue to access and use the service uninterrupted until August 1, 2025, at which time all Edge Intelligence deployment models (hardware and software, both cloud-hosted and on-premises) will reach their EOSL.
