"Found data inconsistencies: Found stale Entity Barrier" when performing Pre-checks for NSX upgrade

Issue/Introduction

• When upgrading to NSX 4.2.x from a version prior to 4.2.0, the following error is observed:

         Found data inconsistencies: Found stale Entity Barrier entries

• If using SDDC Manager to perform the NSX upgrade, a similar error will be seen there:

         Check for data inconsistencies in DB: [Found data inconsistencies: Found stale Entity Barrier entries 5809]

Environment

VMware NSX 4.2.x

Cause

• NSX version 4.2.0 added a new data consistency checker framework to detect consistency related issues in the database at the upgrade time.
• These issues could otherwise cause an upgrade to fail however there is a "RESOLVE" option which remediates the issue and allows the upgrade to complete successfully.

Resolution

• To resolve the alarm and proceed with the prechecks and upgrade, click the 'RESOLVE' button.
• This will automatically resolve any inconsistencies discovered.
