The edge hardware appliance yields the best results if you follow the recommended installation sequence.

1.   Powering the Edge

You must power the edge hardware appliance from a secure AC power source, preferably fed by an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). The status LED on the front of the appliance illuminates when you connect the power.

2. Establishing Internet Connectivity

You connect the appropriate cable from your ISP demarcation point to one of the WAN ports on the edge hardware appliance. It is a best practice to use the lowest port for Internet connectivity.

3. Connecting LAN Devices

You connect LAN devices to the edge ports labeled LANx.
