On third party monitoring tool (e.g. OneIQ) this error typically occurs when attempting to monitor an ESXi host that is already being managed by a VMware vCenter Server.
"ESXi server with address xxxxx is managed by VMware vCenter xxxxx and cannot be monitored directly"

Cause
Below error message occurs when ESXi hosts (those are already managed by vCenter server) are directly added to third party monitoring tool (e.g. OneIQ):
When an ESXi server is added to a vCenter Server, it is essentially placed under the management and control of the vCenter Server. As a result, direct monitoring of the ESXi server becomes restricted or disabled.
This restriction ensures proper management and control of the ESXi server through the vCenter Server, which provides advanced features and capabilities for centralized administration, monitoring, and resource allocation.
Resolution
1. Remove the ESXi server from monitoring tool and add VMware vCenter Server FQDN or IP address instead.
2. If the issue still persists, same error appears then kindly engage the respective vendor support of monitoring tool.
