Issue/Introduction

In Applications Manager version 9.5.1, 9.5.2, and 9.5.3, when running awrun, awexe, or awprint commands on Oracle Linux 6 or RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 OS, the following error may occur.

Example error when running awrun:

home/appmgr/bin/awrun: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /home/appmgr/bin/awrun)

Environment

Oracle Linux 6
RedHat Enterprise Linux 6

Applications Manager 9.5.1+

Cause

Applications Manager version 9.5.1 and above, awexe, awprint, and awrun is compiled using glibc 2.14, but Oracle Linux 6 and RHEL 6 only supports up to glibc 2.12

Resolution

Upgrade OS to minimum Oracle Linux 7 or RHEL 7, which support use of glibc 2.14

Note that Applications Manager version 9.6 will drop support for Oracle Linux 6 and RHEL6 as they have reached End of Life.

Workaround:

Swap out awexe, awprint, and awrun with 9.5's awexe, awprint, and awrun.

When extracting the 9.5 installation media, awexe, awprint, and awrun can be found in the below directory/compress file:
