The datastore selection was empty during the Stage 1 process of the VCSA upgrade.

Issue/Introduction

1. During the upgrade of a vCenter Server using the vCenter Server UI installer, you won’t have the option to select a datastore for installing the new vCenter Server Appliance (VCSA).

Cause

The issue of hidden datastores is caused either by the user cache or by stopping the wizard for any reason and then rebooting the vCenter.

Resolution

1. To resolve the issue on RedHat systems, we need to delete the following folder:
   
   Utente root:
   
   

   Directory: /root/.config
   Delete folder: “vcsa-ui-installer”

   
   
   
2. The same issue occurs on the Windows operating system, but in this case, we need to delete the same folder:
   
   Others user:
   
   

   Directory: /home/<user>/.config
   Delete folder: “vcsa-ui-installer”

   
   
   
3. Run the VCSA installer again, and you should see the datastores.
   
   

   Directory: C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming
   Delete folder: “vcsa-ui-installer”
