Issue/Introduction

Need to define timeshift to a timezone for past time which is already associated to an active contract.

Environment

CA Business Service Insight 8.35 and above

Resolution

It is not possible to add a time shift for a timezone for past time if the timezone is in use by any contract. This is expected behavior as per the design. The same has been mentioned in the documentation too as below.

Note: You cannot define time zones and DST periods retroactively for time zones that are already used in contracts.

Having said that, we can try the below steps to achieve the requirement.

  1. Create a new Time zone as per the required time shift.

  2. Navigate to Administration--> Site Settings --> Advanced

  3. Expand the Configuration tree and Select Contract in the left side pane.

  4. On the right side edit the setting Allow changing timezone between contract versions in metrics and make it Y.

  5. Now create a new version of the contract and edit the new version and select the newly created Time zone for the new version of the contract.

  6. Go to Metrics section of the contract in edit mode and select the new time zone for all the metrics in the contract.

  7. Commit the new version of the contract.

Additionally, you can also try using the same compound timeslot for a new contract version for different metrics within the same contract.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Create a new compound timeslot using the Timeslot templates
  2. Add that compound timeslot to the existing contract metric, ensuring the associated compound timeslot is included
  3. Commit the contract and create a new version
  4. Add a new metric and select the compound timeslot from the timeslot dropdown

NotePlease try the above steps in a test environment and after successful results as per the expectation, apply the same in production.
