Unmanaged Devices showing up in Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

Devices are being automatically discovered in Spectrum and appearing as Model Class = Unmanaged Device. 

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum all currently supported releases

Cause

On the "Global Config" Model the attribute 'EnableCrossLscpeConnectivity(0x13428)' is set to 'Yes'. This results in the creation of unmanaged device models during discovery.

 

By default, this value will be NO. Disabling it won't cause any side effects. 

 

Enabling it will have more generate greater overhead in discovery where it tries to resolve connections for devices.  We recommend making this value to No across all landscapes. 

 

Resolution

Create a new locator search:

Select name as the attribute with value = GlobalConfig:

Then click on the GlobalConfig model when it appears and select the Attribute tab and search for EnableCrossLscpeConnectivity

Then double-click on the right-hand side to change the value. When the dialog comes up, unselect "No Change", then change the value to Yes:
