Spectrum upgrade fails with error message "** Error: Invalid media form "

Issue/Introduction

We are trying to upgrade Spectrum for Windows and the upgrade is failing immediately and when we check the pre-installation logs we can see the following error :

 

** Error: Invalid media form 

 

Then the install immediately fails.

Environment

Spectrum for Windows: ANY

Cause

Problem is due to Antivirus being active

Resolution

Please make sure that all antivirus is disabled and then try the reinstall again.
