Issue/Introduction

In an EEM failover environment, if the IP address of one of the EEM Server has been modified and then the updates / modifications are not being synchronized in the EEM failover configuration. The following error message appears in the itechpoz_alarm as well as in the itechpoz_warn log files in the CA Directory log file –

* DSA_E2735 Multiwrite-DISP: Unable to synchronize with peer 'itechpoz-Failover-hostname’

* DSA_I1240 DSA shutting down

Environment

EEM 8.4 or higher with CA Directory as the internal user store.

Cause

The cause for the updates from any of the EEM server to the failover EEM servers would fail after a change in the IP address, if the EEM related services have not been restarted, especially the CA Directory Server. This is because when a DSA starts up, it caches in the IP address associated with hostname.

Resolution

Restart of CA Directory services in all the EEM servers that are part of the failover will fix this problem. During the startup the DSA would rebuild the Multi Write Cache with new IP to hostname mapping.
