Issue/Introduction

After a new install of SymDump for CICS, the SYMD transaction fails with error message CASD6104 I/O error on CA SymDump file.

Cause

The Symdump for CICS PROTDMP file was not initialized with utility program IN25INIT.

Resolution

The SymDump for CICS VSAM file, PROTDMP, is the SymDump for CICS dump data set. This file contains all dumps to view and maintain with SymDump for CICS. 
Use member SYMFILE in HLQ.CAVHJCL to create and initialize the file with program IN25INIT.
