Issue/Introduction

Java is required for both the NCM server software, and to provide the Java WebStart for the NCM client. Does this include the following:

• A license to run Java on the NCM Servers?
• Java license for running Java on end user machines where they need Java to run the NCM Java-based client?

Environment

NCM - v10.1.x

Resolution

• NCM uses OpenJDK from VMware by Broadcom artifactory and not the Oracle JDK. 
• In case using powerup.jnlp to launch NCM UI, user can use already installed Java 8 from their client machine.
• In case of NCM client, VMware by Broadcom provided OpenJDK is bundled in the client as well.
