Issue/Introduction

Source computer is Windows Server 2019 with local installation of VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.6.0.23265344. Running VMware vCenter Converter Standalone as Administrator, selecting source type Powered on > This Local Machine > "View Source Details", this causes the application to crash which produces an "Application Error 1000".

Review the System Event Logs. You may see an Error such as: "Event 1000, Application Error".

Details: "Faulting module name: ConverterPages.dll"

Environment

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.6.0.23265344 - Windows Server 2019

Cause

For the source VM, VMware Converter is receiving a value for numCoresPerSocket as zero. This value is an invalid input.

The VMware Converter is calculating vCPUs by dividing CPUs by cores. Since the number of cores is zero, the client is crashing with an invalid function of divide by zero exception.

Resolution

The fix will be provided in the next VMware Converter release -- (6.6.x or above).
