While installing fresh or upgrading existing version of Directory Manager (aka mgmt UI) to 14.1.05 on RHEL 7.x, results in failure to do so.
It errors out with:
Your current operating system is not supported by this installation.
Either the version of your operating system is not supported or you
are trying to install the wrong package for your operating system.
Please contact CA Support if you have any questions.
Please refer to Symantec Directory online product manual. See Additional Information section below.
Mgmt UI 14.1.05 requires glibc 2.28 version while RHEL 7.x is support, RHEL is not providing any further version of glibc. The last (latest) version is glibc 2.17.
To confirm the version on existing system, the following command at the system prompt:
Command: ldd --version
It should report something similar to "ldd (GNU libc) 2.17" or whatever the current version is.
With that, the options are:
1) Upgrade the OS to RHEL 8 or 9 (which might be time consuming) first.
2) For time being upgrade to Directory Manager 14.1.04 (as glibc 2.17 is supported up to SP4 version) which has EOS date set to December 31, 2025 while you plan for the first option as eventually that will be required in due time.
