How to add Active Directory authentication/integration in Aria Operations for Logs.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

Resolution

This article represents how to add Active Directory authentication in Aria Operations for Logs.

  1. Login to Aria Operations for Logs and go to Configuration > Authentication > Active Directory
  2. Click on Edit and enter Active directory domain name and user details.
  3. Click on "Test connection" to validate the connection. And save it.
  4. After adding Active Directory account, assign permissions to AD user.
  5. To assign permission, go to Management > Access Control and click on New Group under Directory Groups.
  6. Click on New Group, newly added AD domain from Active Directory Authentication section will get automatically discovered here.
  7. Type AD user name under "Name" option and assign required Role.
  8. Click on Save.
  9. You would now get Active Directory option at login page and would be able to login with domain account.
