Unable to share "Routed" NSX-T backed Network among different Org VDCs within the same VMware Cloud Director tenant

Issue/Introduction

"Share" button is greyed out for "Routed" NSX-T Network in Organization Virtual DataCenter. 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.X and Later

Cause

The Edge Gateway for the "Routed" network has not been added to the Data Center Group in that tenant.

Resolution

   To resolve the issue, add the Edge Gateway to the respective Data Center Groups where you want to share the "Routed" network:

• Create Data Center Groups. Refer article below for the same:  
                             
  Create a Local Data Center Group with NSX Data Center for vSphere Network Provider Type in the VMware Cloud Director Tenant Portal
  
  Note: Create Separate Group for each Organization Virtual DataCenter by selecting the Organization VDC as "Starting VDC". So, Number of Groups created=Number of Organization Virtual DataCenters in the Tenant
  
  
• For "Routed" Network to be shared, add its Edge Gateway in each "Data Center Group". Refer article below for the same.  
  Add an NSX Edge Gateway to a Data Center Group in the VMware Cloud Director Tenant Portal
  
  Note: Unless Edge Gateway is added to Data Center Groups, "Routed" network could not be shared. 
  
  
• Once the Edge Gateway is added to data Center Group, the network would Automatically show as "Shared" as below: 
  
        

 

Additional Information

Without Sharing Edge Gateway to data Center Group, "Routed" NSX-T Network could not be Shared. 
The networks are "Routed" via Edge Gateway hence Edge Gateway to be shared.
